Location

Located at the southern end of Shirley Road, Wollstonecraft, Berry Island Reserve is a 10 minute walk from Wollstonecraft railway station. Limited on-street parking is available in Shirley Road.

Berry Island is a Harbourside bushland Island connected to the mainland by a wide grassy causeway. Situated off of harbourside Wollstonecraft, traditional lands and waters of the Cammeraygal clan of the Eora nation. This near circular island offers a wide grassy causeway perfect for picnics and other activities Koori Kinnections has to offer. The Gadyan track is a bushwalk around the island where our Aboriginal cultural facilitators will take you on a rich and authentically Aboriginal tour, offering our knowledge of the middens, ancient stone engravings and native flora and fauna as well as much of the local Aboriginal history of the area. This tour immerses our participants in vivid Sydney side bushlands with a few opportunities to stop and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding harbour.

Coal Loader Centre of Sustainability tour

 

Koori Kinnections offers a guided tour through the historic Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability. Situated on the Waverton waterfront, traditional lands and waters of the Cammeraygal clan of the Eora Nation. This beautiful, reclaimed space displays best-practice sustainable technology, community gardens, native bush nursery, food gardens, regenerated parklands and a fascinating history.

The Coal Loader Centre is also home to multiple ancient Aboriginal rock engravings marking this site as a place of immense cultural significance to the Cammeraygal and surrounding clan groups of the area.

On this tour Koori Kinnections bring our knowledge of traditional practices, native bush foods and local history to bear with the purpose of delivering a high quality, educational and authentic Aboriginal culturally immersive tours. Koori Kinnection also works in partnership with The Coal Loader Centre of Sustainability and offer joint programs and tours.

Irrawong Reserve and Warriewood Wetlands tour

 

The Warriewood Wetlands and Irrawong Reserve make up the two connected parts of this breath-taking tour. Situated in the Warriewood Wetlands, traditional lands and waters of the Garigal people, this walk takes you through the complex ecosystem of the regenerated wetlands to lush rainforest trails ending at a hidden clearing set beside a magnificent waterfall and waterhole. Koori Kinnections facilitators will lead you through this tour offering our cultural insights and knowledge of the wetlands and rainforest, Aboriginal culture and local history. The waterhole and waterfall clearing is the perfect place for a picnic and other games and activities that Koori Kinnections has to offer.

Glebe walk- Inner city Creek walk tour

 

This tour, nestled in Sydney’s inner-City Glebe, is a hidden gem. Traditionally lands and waters of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation this location is a slice of natural beauty within an urban setting. This inner-City creek is a space that has been reclaimed through the dedicated work of the City of Sydney and volunteers. This tour will take you on a leisurely Creekside stroll enveloped by beautiful native flora. The walk is home to a host of unique and interesting native plants that are hard to find throughout other urban areas of Sydney. Koori Kinnections will take you on a culturally interpretive tour with authentically Aboriginal perspective and insights. A mostly shaded and flat walk, this tour is pleasant for all ages and capabilities. The walk eventually opens to a small amphitheatre like clearing perfect for picnics and other outdoor activities Koori Kinnections has to offer.
